Today I have worked in ArkSoft Photostudio, a software I cannot use in my new computer. To bad as it has a few cool features. So, I plan to create some textures from them to use in the future.

I will post some images, where I have used these filters, for PPF on Friday in my main blog. Will give a link when it is posted.

I did not make any major changes to this image of my car. I boosted the colors obviously. Then applied the filter "Angled strokes" to give a different feeling to the sky. Ended with texture Canvas.

I have some very mixed feelings about the situation in Europe nowadays. I think I am mentally preparing for the war that seem to be unavoidable. It is likely that I will be safe where I live but still, the news and the refugees arriving affects me. I already noticed that there are areas my mind will not go. And that changes what i usually create. In a way it will be interesting to see where it leads me. But I will refuse to create the kind of madness of war that many artists do and that seem to be very popular among art knowing people. Disaster and suffering....that is ART.  Or the opposite, angels and spirits and fantasy. But that is not that popular. And that is not me. I think!
Well, I guess some artists will have a great time being inspired by the war, during the years to come. That will prevent me from visiting exhibitions.

Today I have two SOOC images and one that is liquefied in CS5 and I used only the SOOC Reed image for that one. 

For the images I today posted on my main blog I have used both SOOC images with the sand as texture. To see them jump to NF Photo and PhotoArt 

Well, I had fun enough for today I have to do some cleaning up too.  And the sun is shining despite weather forecast said clouds.

For this image I´m trying out some new stuff. I wanted the image too look more as an oil painting then they normally do. To simulate normal paintings I first used the filter Underpainting. And on that one I used Filter Fresco, not palette knife. And a texture, Canvas.

Well, maybe not my best stuff ever but I learned a new thing or two in the process.

This is the simple image I am using for both textures below. I was posting it HERE

These are my textures I use on the simple one. Top texture is BOKEH of autumn leaves and the one below is snow and mud from shoveling off snow.

As you can see I used the bokeh texture and left a part of it outside to create a frame. That way the difference between the triangle and the texture is clearly visible. Then, of course, I lost track, but I think the blending mode was "Vivid Light". I ended up creating a larger canvas in order to put my logo below the image.

To see the snow and mud version you have to go to NF Photo, it turned out better then I expected.

A piece of art is best enjoyed when it stands alone.
It is not nessessary to give all details of your work unless you want it. An artist must have some secrets and, well, how we did it is most of the times impossible to describe anyway.  And we work with different software. I will mostly give details in a separate post.

I was taking a bath when I realised this reflection looks like a sailingboat.

 I took a couple of shots, just a simple one. The wallpaper is already a texture.

Then I choose a part of a harbour sunset, as texture, to become the sea on which the boat is sailing.

OK, maybe that was not that simple in the end. What I would like to know, do you have editing software with or without the possibility of layers? Without layers you are more limited. But can still do a lot.

The Optional theme for next weeks DAM is:
Create your own Texture and use it on the simple image.

Below you find two of my own favourite textures. The top one is bokeh of autumn leaves and the one below is snow and mud from shovling off snow. And from above you can see wallpaper might do great as texture as well.

But, you may still do whatever art you wish. The above is optional.

Jag ville sätta in Johanna i det istäckta fönstret. Bilden rätades upp och färgen förstärktes en aning. Sedan beskar jag den.

I wanted to put Johanna in the icy window. The image had to be slightly rotated and the color was saturated a little. Then croped.

Johanna fick speglas för att bli som jag ville. Sedan beskars bilden och kopierades in i fönstret.

Johanna had to be mirrored to fit the image. Then the image was croped and copied into the window.

Johannas lager fick suddas i kanterna för att passa in i rutan. Sedan fick den en opacitet på 64 %. Fönstret fick en blandning med "skarpt ljus"
The layer for Johanna had to be erased a bit in the edges to fit the window. Then I gave it an opacitet, 64%. The window blending mode was "sharp light".
