I thought this looke nice, The effect is called Cartoonizer DCX

This cat lives a block away from me. I meet it now and then.

First try yesterday,  CS5 & WACOM PAD

On old image made in another software


I finally was able to set up the sketchpad and now I try to figure out how it works. As usual not as easy as they say. Will take a while to get used to.

I used the tree above to learn to follow lines and curves. That is actually why I wanted it. Other sketch software's I have found searches for too many lines. Second image is made like that but is not overwhelmed. But later on I hopefully will be able to do something like that but with more stronger curves and less of the finer.

I took an very old image and made some changes to it. I poured coffee and cream in one of the cups. The one standing out. I would not try to grab it though :)

This is some old stuff I created during the years. The first one is made from a shot of this statue. This woman lived in my former hometown in the beginning of the 19th century. She was famous for her pretzels and today the town has a nickname, Pretzel town, and a supermarket with that name. In Swedish Kringlan. I made it "Old photo".

The second image is one of the first where I used layers. That was not an easy task back then.

Third is a mistake of sort. I had the wrong setting in my camera but I love this abstract image.

I had the idea of making this fungi into a skirt and maybe a top. It did not turn out as I initially figured it. From the start I thought of a fairytale story in the woods but I had no images suitable for that. I never use images of others but this is an exception as I found this woman on PIXABAY. The only one that had no sexual overtones in it and was plain and simple.

The skirt was rather easy. I used smudge tool to form the waistline and then copied a part of the bottom to create the waistband.

To form the hat I had to use the warp in order to deform the fungi to suit her head and the angle of her head. The color of the fungi was not right so I had to ad some orange color tone and a stronger tone for the sunny side of the skirt and hat. And when I was done, I realized that the hand was behind the skirt and it should be in front of it, so I had to fix that too.

It was quite fun and I learned few new trixs.

The book of nature

By this time next week my Exhibition is up. And I will spend much time watching people watching my work :) I figure it will be much different from reading comments in blogs or FB. I´m looking forward to that.
I will also speak at PechaKucha Night tomorrow. And the topic is, of course, a presentation of the Exhibition.

I added a duplicate layer treated with filter "chalk and charcoal" and then used blending "Difference".
Not sure which is my favorite. Both I think.

Japan was great to visit even if the weather was a bit upside down. This particular morning was very beautiful. We was waiting for the sun to rise and the cranes to soar the morning sky.
