Help me chose if you have not already done so!

In my town they will have a December Exhibition for regional art and artists. I´m about to enter the exhibit with 5 pieces. That is what is allowed. After deadline they will decide which artists will be represented in the Exhibition. And with what of their works. Last year 1 out of 3 artists was represented. So, I do have a chance smile emoticon It was a nice exhibition last year with many artists and many different kind of art. 

Now, if you want you can help me with choosing your favorites among a number of pieces and give me the numbers. I would be grateful. Click the link below and you will get to the file.

This time I think "paint daubs" created something different. In my eyes it looks like old fashioned needlework with some glossy thread.

I hope to see some nice work from you even if it is in the middle of summer. And, why not go out and shoot images that would be fun working with during grey days and winter. When I see things I often think "I can do something with this". And I take some shots. And save them "for a better day".

I like this part of the railway going west from my city. I like the curves of the track and all the pylons almost creating a forest.
For this image I used curves and filters in CS5 to enhance the tracks and pylons.

Well, as you see I catch the light in a bubble. This is my kitchen lamp and, no, it is not in the bubble. Not for real anyway. But I made it look like that. As you can see through the window it was a grey day. Crazy? So what, a girl need some fun.

Fild of Flax

Out driving yesterday I spotted this beautiful field of flax. I thought it was an image simple enough to start leaning how do digitally paint. I had it in my mind for a while so yesterday I started testing and ended up with this.   The only tool I used was Smudge tool. And a two different brushes.

To be a first I am quite happy with it even if the lower part more looks like water then crop. Seems like I learned how to paint some water.

If anyone wants to try it I think all editing soft wares have the smudge tool and can be used like this.

Meadow book

For this image I used CS5 and two main features, the Split toning and the Puppet warp.

Split toning is used when you want one color for the bright parts and another for the dark parts. Here I used blue color for the bright and a darker green for the grass.

Puppet warp was used to change the form of the image. As I´m working on to improve my skills in CS5 I tried to make a book shape from the image. Puppet warp gives you a lot of points where you can deform the image. Quite tricky but fun. Don´t think I will hang it on my wall. But I like it.

Finished with a black layer below the image to create the frame.
