For this one, a small image, I selected the sand inside the frame and blurred it with surface blur to avoid unwanted lines and curves in the image. It also gave me a pretty frame as the outer part is not blurred. ;)

Then I inverted the selected area and used the Poster Edges filter to create the sketch on the birds and the pole.

The difference between the SOOC image and the Artsy one is not that large today. I created it a week ago so I don´t remember much of what I did. Other then the usual colors, contrast and cropping. But I did use Poster Edges. It gives the image a little edgy touch. Makes it look a little like a drawing.

For this I used curves and filters Dry brush and Poster edges in CS5. And cropped the image to fit what I liked. Hm, one day, when I don´t have something to do, if that ever happens,I might try to do this as an "oil" painting. I could learn a lot from this one.

OK, that was me. Now lets see how many of you that has come home and how many got their computers fixed. Or just survived heat and harse showers. The memes has been a bit slow a couple of weeks.

  Edited in CS5.  I used Filter Liquify and  Poster Edges as the main tekniques. Then a little retuch and color adjustments.
