This is some old stuff I created during the years. The first one is made from a shot of this statue. This woman lived in my former hometown in the beginning of the 19th century. She was famous for her pretzels and today the town has a nickname, Pretzel town, and a supermarket with that name. In Swedish Kringlan. I made it "Old photo".

The second image is one of the first where I used layers. That was not an easy task back then.

Third is a mistake of sort. I had the wrong setting in my camera but I love this abstract image.

Today I have worked in ArkSoft Photostudio, a software I cannot use in my new computer. To bad as it has a few cool features. So, I plan to create some textures from them to use in the future.
I will post some images, where I have used these filters, for PPF on Friday in my main blog. Will give a link when it is posted.

I am currently working on a new project with the woman from the post before this and some posted on my main blog. Now I positioned her in another setting and are now cleaning up that image. There was some buildings and people I had to remove. I have not yet decided of the background either. The background image is also altered with a glow filter. And some lighteffects behind the woman.

As this is not finished I post in my blog "Image Workshop"

I had the idea of making this fungi into a skirt and maybe a top. It did not turn out as I initially figured it. From the start I thought of a fairytale story in the woods but I had no images suitable for that. I never use images of others but this is an exception as I found this woman on PIXABAY. The only one that had no sexual overtones in it and was plain and simple.

The skirt was rather easy. I used smudge tool to form the waistline and then copied a part of the bottom to create the waistband.

To form the hat I had to use the warp in order to deform the fungi to suit her head and the angle of her head. The color of the fungi was not right so I had to ad some orange color tone and a stronger tone for the sunny side of the skirt and hat. And when I was done, I realized that the hand was behind the skirt and it should be in front of it, so I had to fix that too.

It was quite fun and I learned few new trixs.

The image says it all :(
Hm, thinking of it, this reminds me of what I draw as a teenager.
Not sure if I should be happy or not.

The Shell

   CS5, WACOM

This is a flat shell I had for many years. Picked it up on a shore in New Zealand. I took a shot and actually calculated the form to get used to the WACOM. Then I added the different, colored curves and a layer with the shell coloring.

I am a bit frustrated as most pencils tend to be thinner then it looks on the screen. Maybe my image is too large. Have to try a smaller size. I obviously can´t paint sand so I kept that visible in the image. Just added a texture on it.

WACOM   CS5

I have a lot to learn on how to work on WACOM. One thing is to coordinate eyes and hand movements. As you are looking at the screen while drawing on the WACOM tablet. Harder then I thought it would be. And lot to learn about pencils and pressure too.

Some day I might get  the hang of it.

Meditation experience in a sketch

The Dead Soldier

This is something I wanted to "put on paper" for several years now, and failed. Tried photo, photoshop and the WACOM tablet. And failed. So, as a last attempt I went to the bookstore and bought oil crayons. And this is the very first sketches I made. The crayons still has sharp edges. I also added a small green light in Photoshop CS5. As this is jsut a first attempt I post it in my blog Image Workshop.

This is a meditation I had years ago. In meditation I felt I had another mind attached to me below my hip. and slightly behind it. (first image). It happened several times. I also had a dream of a coffin filled with water, with a dead person trying to get out of there. And with stairs behind it.

Later on I had contact with a man who knew a medium. It was arranged that she should tap into my mind when I meditated. Without knowing what it was about. Two days later I got an email. My friend had word from the medium that "I had a dead soldier clinging to me. When he died, drowning in water, he saw the green light I radiated when I was meditating and clinged to it.  He thought I was a higher being and wanted to be rescued." It was when I read that I realised the meditation and dream was the same experience.

Scary, isn´t it? In some way. But, now, I finally can show it on paper.
On a sidenote, I don´t meditate anymore.

NEWS Exhibition closed, Blogs and meme changes

There will be changes in my blogs soon. As GOOGLE will close our image host PICASA and move images into GOOGLE Photos  I will take the opportunity for changes too. I have to many blogs and the no of visitors goes down week by week. So I want to reduce the number of blogs.

To start with I will set Bildverkstan / Image workshop as "Archived". It means I will no longer post here. And NF DAM is hereby closed.

BUT, instead I will open a new one on my main blog. I will start that one from fresh and call it

"The Creative Playroom"

The intention is ART but in a broad meaning. I want to see that you have done some creative work. Don´t just share nature images without working on them. There are other memes for that.

You can post digital art, images of your paintings, beautiful monocromes, create strange worlds  and post them. Have fun with it!

Everything creative works. BUT NOT ordinary photos and advertising
You can link to your meme IF you have a proper image for mine, if not your link will be removed.

You find the new meme on
nfbild2.blogspot.com
the usual time tomorrow. Wednesday!

The exhibition!
Now, a proper way for the final post on this blog would be to share the experience of my exhibition. It is now closed and the art back on my own walls.

So, was it worth the effort? Yes it was. I worked with it for 7 month in total. I had a lot to prepare and it did take quite a lot of both time and money, as well as to print all images and to frame a few of them.

But to watch people walk through the exhibition taking a look at many of my images was rewarding. Sometimes they walked through rather quickly while others took their time watching all of it. I also talked to many of them. I´d say that when I was present I had more visitors then I had expected. 17 business card was taken and some comments was written.

In short, it was a very nice experience. And i learned a lot during the ride.
If you dare, try it for yourself!

Thanks to everyone who has been part of my memes so far. I hope you will follow me to my main blog and participate in The Creative Playroom
