This is "one of those things" that don´t turns out the way you wanted but become pretty nice anyway.
What I wanted was a really glowing tail. I guess I´m half way. I´m not sure how I made this. But one step was "smart blur" (, just a reminder for me). In CS5 of course.
I wanted a cool image for this but seeing what I did I wish I had an image of the whole horse.

Lately I have had problems with seeing the light. Like the sun in this image is hardly visible. The darkness seem thick and almost impossible to penetrate. I wanted to share the light with the world but today I see only darkness, there are so much suffering going on and the light seem almost like a mockery of all suffering.
So much problems in Africa, Europe and all of the world. It is affecting me but  I can do nothing about it.

First part of the twirl 

I added a  mirrored copy of the image above and set the Blending mode to Pin light

The more colors you have in your SOOC image the more colorful your twirl will be.
I think every editing softare have the Twirl filter. But probably not this advanced as the different Photochop softwares. One way to find out is to try and have some fun.

Steps taken: from this site  slrlounge.com

1.) Open any image in Photoshop 

 2.) With your background layer selected, go to Filter – Pixelate – Mezzotint. Make sure your mode is set to “Medium Lines.” Press OK.

3.) With your background layer still selected, go to Filter – Blur – Radial Blur.  Amount (100) – Blur Method (zoom) – Quality (best). Press OK.

4.) Repeat step 3 as many times as you like

5.) Duplicate your background layer. 

6.) Select your background layer.  Then go to Filter – Distort – Twirl.  In the Angle number box, you want to put in a positive value number.  Let’s put in 80 for now.  Press OK. You can always try different ones the more you experiment.

7.) Select Layer 1 above your background layer.  Then go to Filter – Distort – Twirl.  In the Angle number box, you want to put in a negative value number this time.  Let’s put in -80

8.) With Layer 1 selected, we want to change the blending mode of this layer. In your layers palette, right above Layer 1, you will see the word “normal.” Click on that and it will expand a variety of choices.  Depending on the colors and exposure in your image, will depend on which blending mode works best here.

9.) Flatten your image. You can stop here or work on it some more.

The difference between the SOOC image and the Artsy one is not that large today. I created it a week ago so I don´t remember much of what I did. Other then the usual colors, contrast and cropping. But I did use Poster Edges. It gives the image a little edgy touch. Makes it look a little like a drawing.

Today I have two SOOC images and one that is liquefied in CS5 and I used only the SOOC Reed image for that one. 

For the images I today posted on my main blog I have used both SOOC images with the sand as texture. To see them jump to NF Photo and PhotoArt

This beautiful mushroom grows for a little while in September every year. It is edible but I have not tasted it. This time I took some extra images. Might do a skirt from it someday when darkness is upon us. The sun already sets at 18,18 h. Today´s time as the weather forecast tells me.  :(  Soon there will be more light indoors then outdoors.

Now it is up to you to share the light with the rest of us.
