Hi everyone and Welcome back to Catching light meme. Now on Bíldverkstan / Image Workshop.

I was encouraged when I learned about your reactions when I closed it. I did not realize some actually learned to watch light and use it in your images.

Now I moved into my workshop and my intention is to give both you and myself a little bit of a challenge.
I will try to explain what I´m doing and sometimes give you optional challenges. That can be tricky as the weather outdoors might not be cooperative. But there is lots of light indoors too. Today I lit the candle again. You will see more of those hands if you take a look at my link today. I have combined photo and artwork as many of us do. But that is not needed for a light image.

Now it is up to you. Let´s have fun

Work flow!
Hm, I´m in trouble here. At first I took the image of the candy and removed the crap around it. Then made a new layer and used Pattern fill to get a background to the candy. Then I Distorted the image with Twirl. Looked nice but a bit boring so I opened the EDIT/Puppet warp and had some fun with it. And changed the background again. I actually liked the image with the Puppet Warp net on it. So I took an image of it with my camera. But now I see I could have been more careful with that. The image is darker at the top. To late to do anything about it now.  But I like both images. the shiny, plastic look of the first one and the warp net on the second one.

Lol, of course you don´t have to this much. I did it because I, myself, wants to remember what I did.
It will be fun to see what you guys have created.

I only did two things with Frozen meadow. Working in CS5 I used the filter Spatter and a little color and contrast adjustments. Then I made a white layer below the spatter image to use it to create the lighter areas at the sides. Used 25% delete to get the effect I wanted. Lighter but not frame. Brushing the color off and letting the white shine through.

If you have a software without layers you can get the same effect if you paint carefully with 10% white till you get what you like. Takes some trial and error but it works.

Pipe cleaners

This was quite cool. I read in a magazine how to do it. You need a 50mm lens or similar, turn it backwards in front of your camera and shoot through it. Quite tricky but it can be done. This is colorful pipe cleaners. And a little work done in PS CS5.

I´ll be travelling a bit, I think!
As I mentioned on Catching light I will go on  trip starting Thursday. I hope. The flight I had booked is now on strike and grounded. Tomorrow I will try to get a train ticket instead. So, keep your fingers crossed for me. If things work out I will be back next Wednesday in the afternoon. I have prepared next weeks post and it is set on schedule. If it does not work, just wait a few hours and I´ll be back to fix it.

I know some of you are curious. On my Travelblog is a post with the plans. IF it works that is, as travel plans was ruined and I have to change bookings.  :(
