For this image I´m trying out some new stuff. I wanted the image too look more as an oil painting then they normally do. To simulate normal paintings I first used the filter Underpainting. And on that one I used Filter Fresco, not palette knife. And a texture, Canvas.

Well, maybe not my best stuff ever but I learned a new thing or two in the process.

Black and White

This day the sun shone nicely on the white cows. I have taken shots of them before and I like how the light enhances the ears of them. The bright halo of hair on the ears edges and the red tone in the ear that comes from blood vessels. This day they had company of a black cow standing in the shadows. I wanted to see what she looked like in back light. Finally she came out but it was impossible. No effect in the ears, just a black feature silhouette standing there. I did not even take a shot.

When the black one started to graze she got some buttercups in front of her. Wow, there was the shot!
Conclusion for today. The different colors made me take two completely different shots of the cows. The white one was great in back light but was not enhanced by the buttercups at all. For the black cow it was the other way around. No back light but together with buttercups it made wonders. As images, not portraits, that is!

Looking at the image of the black cow I realize it can do as a macro shot so I´m linking up with

Smörblomma - Buttercups

My work this week is of the flower Buttercup. First image I shot as BOKEH (out of focus)  in order to get the nice yellow pattern. I used it twice on top of each other. The top one smaller. Then I added a black frame.

To finish I took the other flower image and positioned it on top of the others and added a blending mode. Sorry I forgot which one :)

This image was taken from my window in the hotel in Båtsfjord, Varanger. Norway. It was almost dark and it snowed outside. I liked the look of the lamp.

Northern light

For this work I made the picture a little brighter. Then I added a filter  that resembled oil painting. Then I played around with some pencils I had not used before. I realized that if I enlarged the brush and used white color it looked like a snowfall. So, that is what I added to the real snow outside. Then I finished of with a little softer edges.

Sorry about the wintery look. I guess the cold outside inspired me.
